Learn to Build a Willow-ribbed, Skin-on-Frame Canoe: At Yestermorrow Design/Build School in Warren, VT.
We will frame the boat with a 12’ board (pine, spruce, or fir); forty willow rods for the ribs; water-based glue; cotton twine for
lashing; and some scrap hardwood. By applying Celtic and Native American methods and designs, we will produce a 10 ½’ by 27” wide double paddle canoe
that will weigh about 18 pounds and carry 200 pounds. The finished class project will be raffled off to a workshop participant. Register at www.yestermorrow.org. |
